Upon graduation from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree is granted. The usual length of the course of study is 4 academic years. The curriculum consists of 2 years of primarily didactic instruction followed by 2 years of primarily clinical rotations, including the applicable didactic material. Upon graduation with the D.O. degree, the graduate is eligible for postdoctoral residency training in all fields of medicine. Completing a program of study at Midwestern University does not guarantee placement in a residency program, future employment, licensure, board certification or credentialing.
