Program
College/Program
Clinical Psychology Program
Credits 3

This course will begin with the basic building blocks of Learning Theory and how one acquires new behaviors as the result of experiences in the environment.  This advanced course will examine the application of Learning Theory to behavior therapy as they apply to a variety of psychopathologies, behavior disorders, and other mental health conditions in children, adolescents and adults.  Using recent empirically supported behavioral therapeutic approaches, this course will introduce the student to the specific behavioral techniques that have been shown to be most effective in the treatment and remediation of symptoms and psychopathological conditions.  The course will also examine how behavior therapy is applied to various, sometimes underserved populations such as individuals with different ethnic, racial, or cultural backgrounds.
