The Biomedical Sciences Program offers an educational opportunity to current MBS students applying to other colleges at Midwestern University. The following policies apply:
- Current MBS students must apply and be accepted into a clinical program at Midwestern University.
- The clinical degree program will be considered the primary degree program and the Biomedical Sciences Program will become the secondary degree program. Continuity of the primary degree program must be maintained.
- Proposed research plan and timeline must be approved by the Biomedical Sciences Program. Curriculum may be individualized to accommodate availability of desired courses, academic proficiency, and student preferences. As a secondary degree program, the MBS degree must be completed within a total of five years from initial matriculation.
- Students must meet the academic and degree requirements of each program. Failure to do so will result in an academic action.
- The number of credits required for completion of the MBS degree is 72 quarter hours. Some courses from the dual degree student's primary degree program may be deemed suitable for credit in the MBS degree program. If approved, these courses will be transferred for credit.
- In addition to the established quarterly tuition for the primary degree program, dual degree students shall pay tuition to the Biomedical Sciences Program on a per credit basis for courses in which they are enrolled. Dual degree students shall receive a discount on the usual MBS Program per credit hour charge.
