This course emphasizes interpersonal skills, communication, and professionalism as part of patient care. Ethical professional practice as it relates to diversity, equity and inclusion are discussed. Legal aspects of optometry, and billing and coding are reviewed. Exercises necessary for entering modes of practice are implemented. Job securing strategies, contract negotiations and business plan development and creation are covered.
