OMEDD 1570: Principles of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine I
Credits 2This course will be a blended offering of online and in-person hands-on material delivery. The material taught during this course will include landmarks, palpation, motion, somatic dysfunction, viscerosomatic reflexes and osteopathic considerations of the thoracic spine, rib cage and lumbar spine.

Credits 2This course will be a blended offering of online and in-person hands-on material delivery. The material taught during this course will include osteopathic considerations of the upper extremity, cervical, sub-occipital, cranial osteopathy and the hip/pelvic regions.
OMEDD 1572: Principles of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine III
Credits 1.5This course will be a blended offering of online and in-person hands-on material delivery. The material taught during this course will include the sacrum, the hip, knee ankle and foot, Counterstrain and exercise prescription.
OMEDD 1670: Clinical Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
Credits 2This course will be a blended offering of online lectures, in-person lectures, and in-person hands-on material delivery. The material taught during this course will include the history of osteopathy and current osteopathic research, the Chicago and Mitchell models for sacral diagnosis, osteopathic considerations of fascia, cranial diagnosis, osteopathic considerations of body point systems, osteopathic considerations of chronic pain and ethics, osteopathic considerations of the hospitalized patient, osteopathic considerations of the pulmonary patient, and osteopathic considerations of the cardiac patient.
OMEDD 1671: Clinical Osteopathic Medicine II
Credits 2This course will be a blended offering of online lectures, in-person lectures, and in-person hands-on material delivery. The material taught during this course will include osteopathic considerations of the GI patient, osteopathic considerations of the neurological patient, osteopathic considerations of the ENT patient, osteopathic considerations of the rheumatology patient, osteopathic considerations of the obstetric patient, osteopathic considerations of the pediatric patient, and osteopathic considerations of patients with disabilities.
OMEDD 1672: Clinical Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine III
Credits 1This course will be a blended offering of online lectures, in-person lectures, and in-person hands-on material delivery. The material taught during this course will include new material as well as a complete review of osteopathic approach and techniques taught in the prior two years to prepare students for boards, third/fourth year rotations, and residency. This material will cover diagnosis and treatment of cranial osteopathy, cervical spine, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, lower and upper extremities, and sacrum.
OMEDD 1801: Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Rotation
Credits 6This is a core rotation required of all fourth-year students. Each student will spend four weeks in the office of an osteopathic physician who uses OMT in their medical practice. The didactic component will consist of a comprehensive review of osteopathic principles, diagnosis, and common manipulative techniques held on the first day of the rotation in the OMM skills lab on the Downers Grove Campus. At the conclusion of the rotation, a written examination (COMAT) and practical examination will be given. The student will gain practical experience in using osteopathic principles and practices in the clinical setting.
